Cabin Fever 2010

Sundance was a blast this year. We normally all stuff into a cute little cabin right on the slopes, but this year was different. Instead of all of Papa and Grandma's 10 kids trying to fit in for 7 days, we did half and half. So half of us for the first 3 days and then we all were together on Sunday and switch! The other half stayed the next 3 days. So fun! So roomy! It's always great to be together and enjoy extended family's company.

I did jump out on the slopes which was an improvement from not skiing at all last year (pregnant with Evelyn). It was so much fun. I cannot believe how much I enjoyed it. I was nervous that I wouldn't be good enough to enjoy myself - that 30 minutes it took to get my skis on and make it down the bunny hill to the lift was not a good sign, much less the burning in my booty from pizza slicing my skis the entire time. The rest of the evening ski was fantastic. I'm so happy. It was just challenging enough and I was just capable enough that it was a blast. I'm so excited for the next time I go. I just might have to slip up to Sundance on my own to celebrate finishing my thesis. I defend on MONDAY!

Evelyn is one of my biggest cheerleaders. She sleeps quite regularly, letting me get all the work I need to finished. What a cutie! She and I are here hanging out in the cabin. No, the Christmas colors were not planned. That's just an extra bonus for your viewing pleasure.

The Bible says do not wrestle your neighbor...

But remember when the crowd was cheering and I used my strength to rip my blouse?

And the winner is...

The New Beginnings Night at the Oscars was fabulous, darling.

Girls dressed up, posed for pictures, received awards, learned about the new Young Women's program and most importantly, ate from the chocolate fountain.

Oh, what a night. And the paparazzi wasn't too annoying.

Word World

Hanging out with Isaac, we heard Ruff Ruffman talk about walking down the road to fame.

Isaac: What does fame mean?
Me: It's when everybody knows your name. Like your dad - lots of people who have weddings know who he is because he is such a good photographer. He's famous.
Isaac: Yeah. And he goes all over the world. So he will be famous. Right now, he's just fame.

Mercy, I beg of you

One of my sisters friends (very hip, very cute, very much doesn't have any children of her own yet) talking to Johnny boy: Hi, cutie. Did you dress yourself this morning?

No, he did not.
Yes, it is long past time for laundry to be done at our house.
No, his mismatched clothing is not a negative reflection of him.
Yes, you will eventually understand.
