One Month

I can't believe Davis is already a month old. This is crazy. Time has no mercy. I am no longer the mother of a newborn. He is already chunking up. I love that part.

SLEEPOVER at Gammie's
I heard there was not a lot of sleep but lots of fun. Thanks, Gammie!

Are you my daughter?

Home girl was dipping into the spicy salsa her mom wasn't even willing to try. And PS-she learned to walk last week!

Glinda with a Gahhh

We couldn't be happier,

Right, dear?

Couldn't be happier
Right here

Look what we've got
A fairy-tale plot
Our very own happy ending

Where we couldn't be happier -
True, dear?

Couldn't be happier
And we're happy to share
Our ending vicariously
With all of you

He couldn't look handsomer

I couldn't feel humbler

We couldn't be happier

Because happy is what happens
When all your dreams come true!

Star Bellied Sneetch

Welcome to Team Covey, little Davis Covey
Your muscles are strong and your cheeks lovey dovey
Everyone says how handsome you are
They say you're the cutest baby by far
Even Sylvester McMonkey McBean
Says you're the cutest sneetch that he's ever seen

The funniest joke I ever heard...

A nurse, a certified nurse assistant and a postpartum mother are sitting in a hospital room. And the mother asks for an ice pack for her aching parts. And the nurse says, "Oh, you can have one more ice pack but then when you go home, you need heat on your aching parts. You need to bathe at least three to four times a day." That nurse obviously never gave birth, much less to more than one child. I'm feeling really good about myself for the evening shower I get in between putting three children down to bed and feedings. Three to four baths? Don't make me laugh.

They say it's your birthday

Lance hosted his 4th birthday party. It was a blast. Everyone that came got to be a super hero.

Nana was a superhero for holding Eve the whole night. Obviously Eve's not walking yet because I'm holding her all the time, so she's used to it and not looking like anything is going to change anytime soon.

Camille was a superhero because she made superhero costumes for every child that came. It was magical. Everyone running around with super powers.

Like Johnny's super power of balloon force field where your brother can bob a balloon in front of your face, but you'll never get hit.

Like Van's super power of cake maker extraordinaire. This is not the first family function he has supplied the cake for. It's officially a habit.

Super cute.

Super grandparent.

Super bat-tastic.

Super family.

And me - I'm fabulously super pregnant. T-minus 8 days of barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen, to be exact. I haven't taken very many pregnant pictures and looking at this profile makes me grateful this is a limited edition.

It's about time...

Evelyn is 17 months old and I am just barely getting around to her first hair cut. I just thought it was a shame to take away any length but the short front/long back was too unbecoming of a lady.
